The 8th grade volleyball players wrapped up their last junior high game against Smithson Valley, but some are sad because some might not be playing together next year. Here are some memories of the season.

Some good times were when they encouraged people and when they celebrated victories. They also had fun with each other, playing a sport that they love.

“We encourage people and we were positive. One good game was Borene South. Even though we lost, it was a good game because we were always on our feet,  quick to the ball, and we encourage our teammates and played our best”. Said Sarynn Honeycutt, eighth grade volleyball player.

Some things they could work on is staying low and working together.  Sometimes it didn’t seem like there was a team out there, but just one person.  However, the girls worked hard to improve on themselves every practice, every game.

“I feel that we did have a good season even though our record didn’t show it. We had a really good time and with good coaches we improved a lot since seventh grade,” said Sainya Locklear, eighth grade volleyball player.

Some might decide to continue playing  sports in high school to get scholarships, play advance, harder, and more challenging games. Some might not because there are other sports, some are busy with homework, and projects.

“I for one am excited to play in high school to learn more and condition myself more and try to earn a scholarship”, Said Locklear.

“ It’s hard to really focus on sports in high school because classes are harder and you are more busy. But on the other hand I’m really excited to play volleyball in high school because it’s more advanced and more playing time and I can see myself improve,” said Honeycutt.
