You may have heard about International Women’s Day, but do you know why women are being celebrated?

In 1908, over 10,000 women gathered in New York City to demand the right to vote and better pay. The following year, in 1909, the first National Woman’s Day was created. A year later, at a confernce, the women in attendance agreed to an day recognizing all women across the world.

Now, over 100 years late, International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

March 8, 2022 was the day we honored all the women on our campus for their achievements and contribution to our community.
