Listening to music in class can help students

Did you know that music can help students focus in class. Studies show that when students listen to classical music they calm down and become more focused. Music may also help student’s stress levels go down when they listen to music.

Music has changed a lot of students mindsets on school. This can be a positive thing or even a negative thing. Depending on the music that the student listens to, music may calm one’s brain or alter everything that they learned that day.

“Music plays a big role in my daily life,” said freshman, Emerson Weiler.

Many teachers disagree with some of decisions made in some school policies. One of these is allowing music in the hallways and in the classroom. Some teachers think that music distracts students when they’re learning. However, music helps some students learn by listening to soothing music, or even educational songs.

“Teachers should do what is best for their student’s learning needs,” said Corbett student, Jaquin Rosas.

Recently I have seen more student’s listening to music rather than having a conversation with their friends. When students are listening to music they could possibly be stressed, annoyed, or they just want to be left alone.

‘When i listen to music during class it helps me focus more often than I would if I wasn’t listening to music,” said eighth grader Cara Penaloza.
