The great thing about fishing is how it improves your health and mental state by getting outdoors, not on your electronics, and getting physical.

“My grandpa got me into fishing when I was probably five,”said my father Cody Furlong.

Kids can start fishing at any age, but to get them hooked into this sport, it’s best for parents to expose their children to fishing before the age of five.

“I enjoy the quiet time and being away from the city,” said eighth grade math teacher Mr.Busch, who is an avid fisherman.

Fishing is one of the most popular outdoor recreational activities in the United States. It’s a chance to go outdoors and use your entire body to capture something to consume.

“I like to fish structure because I believe fish live by structure for protection,”said Furlong.

Fish live near inlets and outlets where the water enters and drains from a body of water. Fish also like structure which can be known as “sweet spots.” For this reason, fishermen know exactly where to  set up camp to fish.

Busch said, “I primarily [enjoy] fishing with lures, so that I’m spending less time sitting and waiting. The quiet time is nice, but I’d get bored if I was doing too much sitting around.”

Spinner baits, plastic worms, top waters, are great lures used for bass fishing. These are artificial lures. Bass fishing is the activity of angling for the North American game fish known as a bass.
